Average Online Ad Performance

We are frequency asked about “average” ad performance, as measured by click-thru rates, engagement rates, time viewed, etc… and while it seems intuitive that an “average” should be a good benchmark, it’s really not. Since every campaign and audience is different, the better benchmark is that which compares “campaigns like yours” similar audience, objectives, creatives (ie. branded vs. unbranded), ad sizes, etc… However, to placate the masses and put a number out there, we thought the below would be useful, which at least breaks out the numbers by industry. Please take with a grain of salt though. “Averages” can be misleading…
